Linden SDA School - Weekly Memo
To: Parents/Guardians From: Mr. Grafton Jones, Principal Date: June 18, 2010 ______________________________________________________ End of School Year 2009/2010: Today marks the end of 2009/2010 school year. It has been a wonderful school year. God has richly blessed us. Report cards for the fourth marking period, along with the ITBS results will be mailed to you. Please be safe wherever you go, whatever you do and have a wonderful summer. School resumes September 7, 2010. If you have not already reenrolled, the office hours for the summer will be 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. August 29 and 30 have been reserved for late registration. Summer Camp: Summer Camp begins on June 28, 2010 and ends on August 6, 2010. The hours are Monday through Thursday 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. An application form is attached, please fill it out and return it by June 11, 2010.
Uniform Display: Parents please take note that a display of the uniform including shoes is in the Principal’s office at this time. Before you purchase uniforms, please take note of what it is you need to buy.
Tuition: Parents with outstanding tuition please cooperate with the Business Manager in bringing your accounts up-to-date. Please be informed that we do have a credit card machine in the office where you can make your payments in person or on the phone.
T-Dap Vaccination: This is a reminder for the 6th to 8th grade students. Forms were sent out to you a few months ago by the Medical Department for your children to get the T-Dap vaccination. To date we have not received anything from you. Please give this some attention as this is very important for your child.
Registration: Registration for 2010/2011 school year can be done at any time during normal business hours to secure space. However, there is a late registration which will take place on Sunday, August 29 or Monday, August 30, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Field Trip: The field trip to Six Flags for the winning house will be held early in the next school year. The graduates will be invited.
Home & School: Thanks for attending the Home & School meetings during the year. Our first meeting for the new school year will take place on September 13, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. for parent orientation.
Health Fair- July 25: The Sickle Cell Awareness Foundation Inc. will be presenting a Health Fair at the Linden SDA School. There will be Blood Pressure Screening, Diabetes Testing and Prevention, Health Insurance, Asthma Awareness, Sickle Cell Awareness, HIV/AIDS, and Health Food . There will also be free mammogram testing, but those people interested in having a mammogram will need to call for an appointment. The telephone number is 1-800-453-8378 Ext. 1.
